Your guide will provide you with a wealth of information regarding Saint Mark's Square and then accompany you on a detailed tour of the Golden Basilica from Saint Mark's square, once the private chapel of the Doge of Venice, the only one of its kind in Italy, thanks to the sumptuous golden mosaics and impressive marble inlay flooring.

During the tour you will be able absorb the atmosphere whilst listening to your guide who will describe the biblical scenes represented throughout the building, together with history and particularities of this ancient Basilica.

The tour lasts one hour and concludes outside the Basilica in Saint Mark's Square.

We got to the meeting point away from the basilica early as requested, got our escort assigned to us, and went off to meet the guide waiting for us at the side door of the basilica. We ended up in a small group of 5 people, so the tour became semi-private, with lots of time for questions, observations, and taking pictures. The guide was extremely well informed on the details of the basilica, communicated well, gave lots of information but paused often for us to digest it and ask questions. We saw a lot of the main floor, then went upstairs to see even more amazing sights, all with perfect descriptions. We spent more than the allotted time, and the guide seemed like she would have stayed longer but was being called to start the next tour. She was very personable, considerate of our time and patience, and very knowledgeable. Amazing experience that I would take again.

La conférencière, Barbara, a été absolument parfaite ! Elle nous a montré la basilique sous un autre angle que celui auquel on aurait pu s’attendre. De ce fait, cela donné une approche unique et très intéressante à la visite . Elle nous a appris beaucoup de choses qui allaient bien au delà d’une simple visite d’église.
Je la recommande vivement !!!
